The following information may be helpful when needing to reprint temple ordinance cards in the new FamilySearch that were originally created using TempleReady. Please begin using this process immediately.

Use the following three steps to reprint the temple ordinance cards:

1.   Claim ownership in the new FamilySearch of the information that you previously contributed.
2.   Prepare the ancestors’ ordinances for reprinting of temple cards and print the FOR.
3.   Take the FOR to the temple, and have the temple ordinance cards printed.

1.  Claim Ownership of Information That You Previously Contributed

If you find information that you originally contributed for temple work, you can claim it so that you can reprint the ordinance cards or make corrections to the information in the new FamilySearch. If the cards created using TempleReady already appear on the patron’s list of family ordinance cards that can be reprinted, please continue to step 2: Prepare the ancestors’ ordinances for reprinting of temple cards and print the FOR.

   1. On one of the family pedigree views or the Family Group Record view, click the name of the individual that contains information that you want to claim. The individual’s details appear.
   2. In the details, click Details.
   3. Click the contributor that is associated with the information that you contributed.

Note: You cannot claim information with the contributor “unknown4470317.” This contact name appears on thousands of temple records that were created when the contributor’s name was not being saved. If you were allowed to claim this information, you would be shown as the contributor for all of those temple records. Instead of claiming the information, you should add another opinion or dispute any wrong information in any of these records.

          * If you contributed this information to the new FamilySearch as well as to previous systems, click your contact name, which appears in the list of contributors. A list of all of the contributors appears. Then click the contact name of the submission that you want to claim.
          * If the information came from many contributors, click Multiple, which appears in the list of contributors. Then click the contact name of the submission that you want to claim.

A page with the contributor’s contact information appears.

   4. Click Declare This Legacy Contributor as Yourself. A page appears where you can enter the information that will be used to evaluate your request.

If the legacy contributor is a deceased relative, state that information and why you are requesting ownership of the data.

   5. If the E-mail field for your e-mail address appears, enter your e-mail address. This field appears only if your user profile does not contain an e-mail address. If your user profile contains an e-mail address, the reply is sent to that address.
   6. In the Comments about this request field, enter any information that you think would help a system administrator verify that you, not the FamilySearch user currently shown, originally contributed this information. This might include information such as the following:
          * Other names or versions of your name that you may have used for previous submissions.
          * Other places where you lived when you submitted information in the past.
   7. Click Submit Request. You will see a page explaining what will happen.

Tip: Print this page. If you have questions about the status of your request, include the Help Center case number, which appears on this page.
Your request is sent to a system administrator. You will be notified by e-mail when a decision is made. If the submission is assigned to you, you will see both your contact name and the original contributor on pages where you see the contributor.

2.  Prepare the Ancestors’ Ordinances for Reprinting of Temple Cards and Print the FOR
Second, after receiving confirmation that the submission has been assigned to you, you must go into the new FamilySearch to complete the steps to have the temple name card reprinted.
You cannot directly reprint family ordinance cards using the new FamilySearch. Instead, you must select the individuals or couples whose cards you need to reprint. The new FamilySearch will print a Family Ordinance Request that you can take to the temple. There, temple workers will reprint the cards for you.
If you completed some of the ordinances before a card was lost, the cards will indicate which ordinances are already done. This helps prevent the ordinances from being done again. If you reprint cards and then find the originals, please destroy the originals. Otherwise, the ordinances might be done again.
A.   On the Home page, click the Temple Ordinances link or the Temple Ordinances tab.
B.    Click Reprint Family Ordinance Requests and Family Ordinance Cards.
C.   Click the appropriate link:
o    Family ordinance cards for male ancestors
o    Family ordinance cards for female ancestors
o    Family ordinance cards for couples
FamilySearch lists the individuals or couples whose ordinances aren’t yet complete.
D.   Click the individuals or couples whose cards you want to reprint.
E.    Click Reprint Request. Your browser’s Print screen appears.
F.    Click OK. The Family Ordinance Request should print. FamilySearch asks if it printed correctly.
G.   Indicate if your Family Ordinance Request printed correctly.
o    If it printed correctly, click Yes.
o    If not, click No. FamilySearch returns to the page which tells you that your request has been saved. Fix the printer problem if you can. Check the following:

§  That the printer is turned on.
§  That the printer has paper.
§  That the cables are all properly connected.
§  That there is not a paper jam or other printer malfunction.
The Family Ordinance Request is printed.
3.  Take the Family Ordinance Request to the Temple
A.    Take the FOR to the temple office.
B.    Ask a temple office worker to print the ordinance cards for you.
At this point, the steps for reprinting these cards at a later time if lost again would follow the new FamilySearch process outlined in steps 2 and 3. These instructions can also be found in the Help Center.
